Legacy Lighthouse Academy

A small, Christ-centered learning program helping 5th–8th graders grow in confidence, character, and academic strength.

About Legacy Lighthouse Academy

Legacy Lighthouse Academy was created for families who want more than subject-by-subject tutoring, but do not want their child lost in a large classroom environment.

LLA partners with parents to provide teacher-led instruction, guided home learning, and a small learning community where students are known, challenged, and supported.

Our goal is to help students rebuild strong academic foundations, grow in confidence, and become capable learners who pursue wisdom, truth, beauty, and virtue.

Why Legacy Lighthouse Academy was created

After years of teaching, tutoring, and homeschooling, I began noticing the same pattern in many middle school students.

As assignments became more complex and expectations increased, capable students started to feel lost.

Math was being completed, but not truly understood.
Writing lacked structure and clarity.
Reading was being done, but not always retained.

Over time, students began to lose confidence in their ability to learn.

Legacy Lighthouse Academy was created to change that.

Students need more than assignments to complete. They need:

  • clear instruction

  • consistent guidance

  • meaningful discussion

  • a learning environment where they are truly seen.

At LLA, students are given the structure and support they need to strengthen academic skills, grow in confidence, and move forward with purpose.

A Structure That Actually Supports Learning

You do not have to carry the full weight of your child’s education alone.

Legacy Lighthouse Academy provides two days per week of teacher-led core academic instruction, with the option of an additional enrichment day. On home days, families receive guidance and direction so students can reinforce what they are learning instead of trying to figure everything out on their own.

This structure gives students:

  • clear academic expectations

  • guided assignments

  • small-group instruction

  • support in math, reading, and writing

  • opportunities for discussion and deeper thinking

  • a Christ-centered environment that supports both learning and character

LLA fills the gap between learning at home, tutoring only, and traditional school.

Meet the Founder

Legacy Lighthouse Academy was founded by Amy Jarman.

Amy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Southern Utah University in 2001 and taught for five years in the Las Vegas area. Her classroom experience includes teaching in a dual-language school as a 1st grade Spanish component teacher, as well as teaching 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 6th grade math.

In 2018, Amy began homeschooling her own children and later transitioned to homeschooling all four of them. In 2020, she founded Trifecta Tutoring to provide individualized academic support with patience, structure, and care.

Through teaching, tutoring, and homeschooling, Amy developed a deep concern for students who were capable but losing confidence because of academic gaps, unclear instruction, or learning environments that did not fit their needs.

Legacy Lighthouse Academy grew out of that calling: to create a small, Christ-centered learning environment where students can be known, supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.

Amy’s faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an important part of her life.

She enjoys teaching, spending time with her family, reading, and starting new hobbies she hopes to finish one day.

What others have said

"Amy is absolutely fabulous! My 4th grader came into the school year with little to no confidence when it came to math and with the help of Amy, he is on the right path again! She made it fun for him, including different kinds of games! Amy is a wonderful communicator and was always on top of things. Thank you again Amy! We may just be back come next school year, after a go go summer!"

Portrait of a Graduate

Legacy Lighthouse partners with parents to educate young men and women who strive to:

Love God - “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.” - Matthew 22:37

Love Others – Students demonstrate love for others by treating them with respect, caring for the school and environment, and serving their community.

Reason Well –Through a Charlotte Mason education taught in a hybrid model, students develop attention, imagination, and independent thought, equipping them for a lifetime of learning.

Engage Society – Students learn to understand and evaluate culture through a biblical worldview, communicate truth winsomely, and represent Christ well.

Delight in Beauty – Students learn to recognize, appreciate, and love beauty as expressed through art, music, literature, and God’s creation.
